Peninsula Watershed 
 
Trail Leader: Join us as a Trail Leader Volunteer and lead hikes, runs, bike and equestrian rides in the Peninsula Watershed. Small groups of 20 people or less can visit the Fifield-Cahill Ridge Trail with a Trail Leader on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays. You'll be trained on how to lead events. Alameda Creek Watershed

The Alameda Creek Watershed Center is still under construction. We are only seeking garden volunteers at this time.
 
Garden Stewardship/Habitat Restoration: Help care for our 2.5-acre native garden by pulling weeds, planting natives, and stewarding this beautiful natural landscape. 


Future Opportunities: 

Environmental Education/School Programs: Support the naturalist staff in delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students exploring watershed science, ecology, and local natural and cultural history.
 

Visitor Services/Front Desk: Welcome visitors, provide information, and help create a positive and informative experience at the Watershed Center.

Aquatic Animal Care/Fish Husbandry: Assist ACWC staff in maintaining our 8,000-gallon stream profile aquarium, including animal care and life support systems.

Watershed Center Grounds and Exhibit Ambassador: Engage with visitors throughout the site by answering questions, sharing key messages, and supporting interactive exhibits.

Nursery/Plant Propagation: Work alongside staff of the Sunol Native Plant Nursery to grow and care for native plants through seeding, potting, and general nursery maintenance.

Special Events: Assist with the setup, facilitation, and breakdown of events, helping create welcoming and well-organized experiences for participants.

Field Research/Ecological Surveys: Support biology staff in collecting field data and monitoring local ecosystems through surveys and observations.
